Minesoft and IET Launch Minesoft Inspec Platform

New, dynamic web platform for IET Inspec’s science and engineering
research database from Minesoft, global patent information specialists

Global patent information solutions provider Minesoft and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) have today announced the launch of the Minesoft Inspec web platform.

The service will provide fast, easy access to high quality science and engineering research intelligence. The new platform is designed to benefit patent and engineering professionals as well as end-users working in the intellectual property and R&D fields, linking IET Inspec with Minesoft’s expertise and products in patent data software & tools. With over 13 million abstracted and indexed articles available, users can research existing and emerging technologies in a flexible, precise way. Minesoft Inspec’s key features, which include specialised indexing and precise search filters, let users optimise the highest levels of speed and accuracy when accessing research. For research teams, there is also the option to save and share results folders via the intuitive Minesoft Inspec user interface.

Daniel Smith, head of academic publishing at the IET, commented: “Sourced from 8,000 scientific and technical journals, videos and books, Inspec is already an essential resource for those in the engineering and technology industries, with over three quarters of a million records added every year. Combining this high quality database with Minesoft’s industry-leading patent information services creates a powerful, centralised pool of information for the patent community. Not only will Minesoft Inspec be a valuable source of intelligence, it will also have practical implications, saving users time and resource normally spent searching for patent related information.”

In addition to providing direct links to the original full text journal articles from across the engineering and technology worlds, Minesoft Inspec also offers the ability to monitor competitors and new technologies. Weekly alerts can be sent to users to keep them informed on the latest developments and ensure that intelligence is being shared effectively to drive further industry innovation.

Speaking from the EPO Patent Information Conference in Hamburg today, Ann Chapman, Joint MD at Minesoft, said: “Our partnership with the IET allows us to offer a very well established, essential research resource for engineering and technology on an innovative and powerful platform. Designed and developed to benefit the patent & engineering research community, the quality of search experience we provide ensures Minesoft Inspec Users can find answers rapidly and better manipulate the content.”

Advanced Professional and end-user Express versions of Minesoft Inspec are available for purchase through a single, flat rate annual subscription.
