Manchester University Press Ebooks Now Available
in the Rialto™ and OASIS® Marketplaces

Through ProQuest, librarians can acquire more than 2,000 humanities
and social sciences titles from renowned university publisher

Librarians can now use the ProQuest Rialto and OASIS digital marketplaces to directly acquire thousands of ebook titles published by Manchester University Press.

Founded in 1904, Manchester University Press is an integral part of the UK’s prestigious University of Manchester. The publisher is known globally for high-quality publications in the humanities and social sciences, featuring both well-known authors and up-and-coming scholars from around the world.

Manchester University Press’s recently published award-winning ebook titles include Women art workers and the Arts and Crafts movement (winner of the 2021 Women’s History Network Book Prize 2021), Britain’s ‘brown babies’ (winner of the 2021 Social History Society Book Prize), Deporting Black Britons (winner of the 2021 BSA Philip Abrams Memorial Prize) and Bordering Britain (winner of the 2021 SLSA Theory & History prize).

“We are delighted to be partnering with ProQuest to give our library customers the option to order our digital books via their preferred platform,” said Shelly Turner, Head of Sales at Manchester University Press. “This partnership will enable our customers to experience a seamless workflow – from selection to acquisition – of Manchester University Press digital books delivered via our platform, manchesterhive, providing access to more than 2,000 books across the humanities and social sciences.”

“Expanding the titles and publishers available through Rialto and OASIS is a priority for ProQuest,” said Audrey Marcus, Vice President, Product Management at ProQuest. “With dramatic growth in the use of ebooks in higher education, libraries need the broadest choice of platforms possible. We are pleased to now offer Manchester University Press to our libraries for title-by-title purchase through our digital marketplaces.”

Manchester University Press joins 19 other publisher and aggregator platform options available for acquisition on the Rialto next-generation marketplace (built to unify and streamline selection and acquisition workflows for academic libraries) and the ProQuest OASIS online ordering platform (used by librarians to select and acquire academic content). Librarians can choose ebooks and streaming video from a rapidly growing number of platforms within their usual ordering workflow, simplifying the ordering and invoicing process.
